KITV Cancer-Free Party
KITV’s Lydia Mahelona-Akamine and Pamela Young celebrated five years of being cancer-free recently at the KITV4 Studio. The two ladies were diagnosed with breast cancer within months of each other, and after years of surgery and medication, they are “clean” and wanted to thank their co-workers for rallying behind them and wearing scarves every Friday in a show of support. The event also kicked off the station’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure campaign for 2013.
