Congratulations to Joelle Inciong on winning the gold medal in the Kata and Kumite categories for 14-15-year-olds at the U.S. Nationals and Team Trials in Chicago, Illinois. This qualified her to represent the U.S. at the 2019 Junior Pan American Championships in Ecuador last month, where she was selected as a team captain for Team USA, and took gold for both Kata and Kumite at the international competition.
Reagan and Peyton Fontanilla of Central O‘ahu represented their club, Honpa Hongwanji Hawai‘i Betsuin Judo Academy, at the Arch Bishop Kakuo Shiba Memorial Judo Tournament. Reagan took first place in U8 under 54 lbs., and his little sister Peyton took third in U6 under 47 lbs.
