KBG Aug. 28 Luncheon Focuses On Agriculture
Kaneohe Business Group will learn about the state of agriculture at its luncheon meeting today (Aug. 28) at Pohai Nani.
The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room and will feature guest speaker state Rep. Jessica Wooley, D-48 (Kahaluu to Kaneohe).
As chairwoman of the House Agriculture Committee, Wooley has worked to reverse current trends where half of the state’s farmland has been lost in the past 50 years. Besides degrees in economics, agriculture and law, Wooley has worked on numerous court reforms and represented the Clean Water, Drinking Water and Wastewater branches for the state Department of Health while serving as a deputy attorney general.
Lunch fee is $15, but reservations are due two days ahead to Carolyn Nakamura, 479-8905.
