Kapolei Water Polo Team Brings High Hopes Into OIA Tourney
The month of April has been good to the Kapolei water polo program. In 14 years of competing, the Hurricanes have never missed out on qualifying for the state tournament.
Senior Brooke Bosque knows the proud history. She and her teammates are hoping to add to it this week when Kapolei, which was 10-2 heading into last weekend, begins play in the OIA tournament.
“We’re definitely motivated, and we’d love to get first in the OIA,” said Bosque. “We talk about it. Because of how we’ve done in the past, we have to work harder to reach that goal. All of the girls are giving 110 percent effort in our practices and games.”
Bosque recently took some time away from school and practice to visit with MidWeek‘s West Oahu Islander.
