Kapolei Car Accessories Shop Owner Continues Family Trade
Using their strengths and knowledge of the car industry, Tony and Christina Pearce opened the custom upholstery and accessories store, Street Kulture, Sept. 1 in Kapolei.
“We’re just young parents with two young adults coming up. We’re just trying to make a better life for our kids,” said Tony Pearce.
Being a member of a car riders club for 10 years, Pearce has years of experience building and investing in his own car show vehicles. With an understanding of the costs of car parts and materials, he wanted to offer a place where people could upkeep and add to their vehicles for a reasonable price.
He mentions that a lot of other shops mark up their prices substantially, but that Street Kulture keeps its prices just above wholesale value.
“We have the best customer service and best warranties in town. Anybody and everybody is welcome to come to the shop. We also can offer great referrals for other car needs, too,” he added.
Specializing in car accessories and upholstery, Street Kulture offers lighting products such as HID kits, conversion headlights and paneling.
Street Kulture also carries imported themed accessories and installs custom upholstery, a skill Pearce learned from a very special person.
“My grandma did upholstery for over 40 years. I kind of learned from grandma,” he said.
“We ask customers interested in upholstery work to come down for an estimate. We work with over 200 materials, so we want everyone to find the material for their vehicle.”
Street Kulture is located at 2009 Lauwiliwili St., in the Hawaii Self Storage building. For more information, call 450-0022.
