Kalaheo Sets Benefits For Project Grad

For Kalaheo High School’s seniors, the Project Grad season of fundraising is in full swing as the May 21 graduation date and celebration approaches.

The public is invited to support it by participating in a Zumba-thon March 31, a recycling drive April 7 and a 5K Spirit Fun Run/Walk April 14 at Kailua Beach Park.

The Zumba-thon is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the school, and also raises funds for the girls softball and water polo teams. Tickets cost $10. For details, call 351-4584. The recycling drive accepts everything from scrap metal to computers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus.

Registration is under way for the fun run, with entry fees before March 30 listed as $20 for military, students and faculty; $25 adults. After that date, T-shirts are not guaranteed, and the fee goes up by $5. The third annual race, in memory of Andrea Lucas Faiella, starts at 7:30 a.m. Go to active.com or call 589-6695.
