Kailua Town Hall Meets May 7

Four area lawmakers will meet with constituents in Kailua from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 7 to reflect on the 2014 legislative session.

State Reps. Cynthia Thielen and Chris Lee, state Sen. Laura Thielen and City Councilman Ikaika Anderson have called the town hall meeting at Keolu Elementary School cafeteria to talk story with Windward residents.

In addition to answering questions about the session, they also want to hear community concerns that they can bring up in 2015. Light refreshments will be provided.

The three state legislators can answer questions about a variety of topics, from their collective committee experience in agriculture, consumer protection, commerce, economic development, government operations, housing, energy, environmental protection, judiciary, ocean and marine resources, Hawaiian affairs, water and land, and funding.

Anderson will discuss the city perspective, particularly on planning and zoning.
