Kailua Target Opening March 4
Kailua Target officially opens to the public at 8 a.m. today (March 4), following a Monday blessing and festivities for invited guests at the Hahani Street site. The Minneapolis-based retailer also opens its first Maui store in Kahului the same day.
Kailua will be the chain’s third on Oahu, for a total of six stores statewide. The company describes its merchandise as a customized mix of everyday essentials, exclusive brands, fresh produce, apparel, home furnishings, electronics, sporting goods, beauty products toys, local snacks, aloha shirts and much more. Kailua Target also offers a pharmacy and a Starbucks.
Store manager Drew Santos said they have tried to incorporate cultural aspects in the design, including bike racks, rock walls, outdoor seating, plus mosaics of kalo, fish and trees. A new traffic light was installed at the entrance, along with other adjustments at the company’s expense, to ease traffic concerns.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
