Kailua Talk Set On Sea Level Rising

Hawaii shoreline specialist Andy Bohlander will discuss “Facing Our Future: Adapting to Sea Level Rise in Hawaii” Feb. 26 with Kailua residents.

A collaboration between Hawaii Conservation Alliance and Whole Foods Kailua, the free Conservation Connections Talk Story program begins at 6 p.m. at the Kailua store. Boh-lander will explain the rising sea level and address specific Kailua concerns.

He serves as a Coastal Processes extension agent with UH Sea Grant College Program and with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources as a shoreline specialist. Boh-lander’s background is in geographic information systems and emergency management.
