Kailua MediSpa Treats Acne, Pigment Flaws

A new skin care facility, SkinHappy MediSpa, is opening its doors in Kailua and invites the public to attend its grand opening from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5. The event will feature pupus, champagne, mini-facial demonstrations, product demonstrations and a chance to win a free facial.

SkinHappy is a medically focused spa that utilizes a range of treatments and products to treat two of the most common skin complaints: acne and facial pigmentation. The facility is an extension of the Kenner Dermatology Center in Castle Medical Center and is owned by Dr. Julie Kenner. It will offer medical facials, facial waxing and facial consultations.

“Approximately 80 percent of all people between the ages of 11 and 30 suffer from acne with many continuing to have acne into their 40s and beyond,” stated Kenner.

“These facial blemishes often negatively impact an individual’s self-confidence, and sometimes his or her social and career choices.

“I wanted to open SkinHappy MediSpa to supplement medical therapies for acne, speed along the healing process, and to potentially provide an aesthetic alternative to oral anti-acne medications,” she added.
