Kailua Farmers Market Has Sweet Fun Sunday
It’s a chocoholic’s paradise in “Choc-Kailua” at the fourth annual Hawaii Cacao Festival from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at Kailua Town Farmers Market.
Attendees will be able to sample and buy chocolates from local vendors, including Madre Chocolate, Hawaiian Crown, Waialua Estate, Manoa Chocolate, Aloha Chocolate Company and Kokolani Chocolate, as well as learn about the growing process.
Aspiring chocolatiers even can purchase cacao trees and hear more about the artisanal bean-to-bar movement.
Two Cacao Guided Walking Tours will bring attendees to Kokolani Chocolate, Manoa Chocolate and Madre Chocolate’s facilities at 9 and 10 a.m. for $10. Pre-registration is required for the walk at eventbrite.com. (Search “Cacao Fest 2015.”)
Paul Izak & Seeds of Love will provide live entertainment, and there also will be demonstrations and keiki activities.
The farmers market is held at Kailua Elementary School, located at 315 Kuulei Road. For more information, call 388-9696.
