Kahuku Frosh Co-Player Of Year In OIA Softball
Jocelyn Alo has been named OIA Red East softball co-Player of the Year.
The Kahuku freshman catcher was possibly the league’s top power hitter, accounting for five home runs during one five-game span alone. Alo was the only freshman to make either the First or Second Team in the Red East.
Senior teammate Kina Kaowili was picked for the First Team as a utility player. The team finished at 4-9.
* Kailua, which finished 6-7, placed second baseman Delcie Williams and shortstop Robi Lono on the Red East First Team. Both are sophomores. Senior outfielder Gigi Murray made the Second Team, while teammate Leilani Lastimosa earned Honorable Mention.
* Castle had a pair of Second Team picks in junior second baseman Paige Matsuki and junior third baseman Darrien Dacosin. The Knights finished 6-7. Honorable Mentions went to Chelsie Kam-Aweau, Brandee Lane, Shea Keaunui and Asia Igafo.
* In Division II, Kalaheo’s Jacqui Howard earned Honorable Mention.
