Kahala Nui Scholars Selected

Kahala Nui continuing care retirement community also helps with continuing education through its annual college scholarships ($500 and up) to employees or dependents at two- or four-year colleges.

“We are committed to our community, our residents, associates and their families,” said president and CEO Pat Duarte.

“Through our scholarship program, we are proud to work with and support these outstanding young people and our donors who make these scholarships possible.”

The 2013 awardees are Primrose Buenaluz, Julianne Chu, Keanuenue Gannet, Tiffany Hee and Mia Tanimoto, all of the Dining Services department; Olivia Kim and Darsha Lee of Assisted Living; and employee dependents Alexander Acorda, Johnette Baricuatro, Clara Chan, Ayana Freeman, Kisa Matlin, Shelby Oshiro and Jennifer Thomson.

New applications are due by March 2 to Hawaii Community Foundation at hawaiicommunityfoundation.org.
