Ka‘ala Effort Validated By Accrediting Commission For 3 Years
Ka’ala Elementary School in Wahiawa has received an initial three-year accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Schools in the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Ka’ala is Hawaii’s 10th public elementary school to win the recognition.
The school stated that it had sought the accreditation to validate its efforts to serve students by focusing on self-reflection, which is part of its self-study process.
Over the past four years, Ka’ala students have increased their reading and math skills, meeting No Child Left Behind’s Adequate Yearly Progress criteria.
