IPA Wins GRAMMY Competition For Music, School Spirit
Kapolei’s Island Pacific Academy is one of three schools to win the Rock Your School Song competition, sponsored by the GRAMMY Foundation and Jostens.
Representatives from Jostens and the GRAMMY Foundation were on hand May 8 to present a plaque and an award check for $2,500, which will go toward the school’s music department.

“Jostens is thrilled to recognize the extraordinary musical talents of the students at these schools,” stated Jostens CEO Chuck Mooty. “The winners of the Rock Your School Song contest exemplified their school spirit by sharing their school song with their community.”
Joining IPA are Benilde- St. Margaret’s School in St. Louis Park, Minn., and Hood River High School in Hood River, Ore.
Winners showcased their school songs and were chosen based on musical talent and school spirit.
IPA’s video entry takes viewers through the school, as keiki from all grade levels use music to tell a story about the school and the state.

“The songs and videos submitted showcased students’ pride in their schools and their musical talent, and the GRAMMY Foundation was honored to be part of this contest and support music education in schools,” stated GRAMMY Foundation vice president Scott Goldman. “These students have incredible talent, and should be tremendously proud of the work they accomplished to present a winning school song.”
