Inaugural Celebration: For Gov. Ige’s inaugural celebration, Mrs. Ige wore this beautiful lace blouse and skirt by local designer Jeanie Chun, whom she met at the Chinese Women’s Club of Honolulu scholarship and welfare luncheon and fashion show earlier this year. “I like the way she uses different materials in her dresses and outfits,” she says. “It becomes a piece of art. I love lace and a little bit of bling. She’s very creative with the use of different materials. She did a nice job.”

Favorite item in your closet: Pink dress (by Taylor) that I wore on Primary Election Night (Aug. 9). It’s festive, colorful and fun. I purchased it from Nordstrom Rack for $20. I love a good find.
Election Day (Nov. 4) outfit: Adrianna Papell blue 3/4-sleeve dress from Nordstrom “I wanted the color blue because blue is our campaign color, and I wanted to celebrate all of the work our volunteers had put into our campaign,” says the first lady. “Even though when I bought the dress, I didn’t know what the outcome was going to be.”

Favorite book: David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell — for obvious reasons. The Moral Imperative of School Leadership by Michael Fullan — it was required reading for my administrative training and it sets the foundation for school leadership.
