Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I went to Consolidated Theatres at Koko Marina with my wife Nona Irvine.
Overall, what did you think?
I liked the movie very much because it was engaging and thrilling, with many twists and turns that had me gripping my seat.
It has all the elements of love, lies, betrayal and our human instinct for survival. This movie touches you on every level. Throughout the movie, you feel like you are part of this suspenseful space adventure. Interstellar is two hours and 49 minutes long, so make sure you take a bathroom call before it starts because you don’t want to miss anything.
Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?
When Matthew McConaughey, who plays Cooper, explains to his daughter the reason why he and his wife named her Murphy. This rang true for me throughout the movie.
On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?
I give Interstellar ★★★★.
What did you think of the cinematography?
The cinematography in this movie was fantastic.
Was the message/theme clear?
Yes, this was done very early in the movie. NASA engineer-pilot Cooper becomes a farmer out of desperation, as every crop but corn fails. He works the farm with his two young children and father-in-law.
Did it remind you of any other works of film?
It reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Who would you recommend this movie to?
It is rated PG-13. Anyone younger may not sit still that long.
Did any of the actors stand out?
Matthew McConaughey — he always does a great job as the lead.
Did you identify with any of the characters?
Yes, “TARTUS” the robot; his humor setting is at 90 percent.
Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?
Yes, the soundtrack was amazingly stellar.
Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD?
Yes, I would have to get a big-screen TV.
