The popular Sweden-based clothing chain H&M will open its second Hawaii store in Kapolei at Ka Makana Alii, a mixed-use development currently being constructed at the intersection of Kapolei and Kualakai parkways.

DeBartolo Development, which is overseeing Ka Makana Alii, announced that the shop will be built on 26,000 square feet over two stories at the shopping center.

“The addition of a globally recognized retailer like H&M to Ka Makana Alii’s growing portfolio of tenants is a testament to the strong demand in West Oahu for first-rate shopping, dining and entertainment options,” stated Edward Kobel, president and chief operating officer of DeBartolo Development. “H&M will provide easy access to contemporary fashion for area families, who will enjoy the convenience of having such a sought-after brand just minutes away.”

Ka Makana Alii is scheduled to break ground later this year. H&M will join more than 100 shopping, dining and entertainment venues that are planned for the center, including Macy’s, two hotels and office space.
