Inaugural Sakada Day
The Filipino community gathered Dec. 20 at Hawaii State Capitol for the first-ever Sakada Day. The afternoon recognized 15 sakadas — the first Filipino plantation workers to arrive in Honolulu aboard the S.S. Doric in 1906.
