Housing Alliance Turns To Feinstein Challenge
The Kaneohe-based nonprofit, Affordable Housing and Homeless Alliance, has accepted the Feinstein Challenge.
In other words, if the community steps up to help the alliance with donations of cash and food, it can win matching funds to enhance its fight against hunger.
According to AHHA program developer Tamara Woods, the Feinstein Foundation will match every check and non-perishable food item that are donated in support between March 1 and April 30.
Since 1985, the alliance has worked to open doors to help island residents overcome homelessness by providing case management on the North Shore and in Central and Windward Oahu.
It also advocates for fair housing and community improvement.
Checks to the AHHA, memo notation “Feinstein Challenge,” may be sent to the alliance at 46-217 Kahuhipa St., Space 3, Kaneohe, HI 96744.
The agency is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays for inquiries or donations. For more information, call Woods at 845-4569, ext. 519.
