Queen’s Honors Volunteer Chiye Takitani
The Queen’s Medical Center presented volunteer Chiye Takitani with this year’s Ho‘omau Award, which recognizes longevity of service. Takitani began volunteering at Queen’s 23 years ago after she retired from Castle & Cooke, where she worked for 34 years. At the presentation with Takitani (seated), which took place prior to the mayor’s five-person gathering limit, were (from left) Sharlene Tsuda, Queen’s vice president of community development; Julie Aoyagi, Queen’s volunteer services; niece Laura Miyashiro, sister Machi Tsuruya; April Light, Queen’s manager of volunteer services; and Janine Takabayashi, Queen’s volunteer services.
