Helping Keiki Have ‘Better Tomorrows’

More than 300 keiki residents at the Towers of Kūhiō Park received much-needed school supplies at a giveaway organized by Island Insurance Foundation and Better Tomorrows. This is the fifth year that Island Insurance Foundation has helped fund a school supply giveaway for the children at the complex.

‘Waterman’ Honors Duke Kahanamoku

The Foundation for Global Sports Development and its media company Sidewinder Films, two entities behind the upcoming project Waterman, presented a $25,000 donation to Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation. The film honors Kahanamoku’s legacy. On hand for the check presentation — fittingly held in front of his statue in Waikīkī — were (from left) Megan Halicek, Sidewinder Films’ director of programs; Bill Pratt of Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation; Melanie Raffle Armenti COO of The Foundation for Global Sports Development; and Chet Thomas, Waterman producer.
