Credit Union Gift One For The Books
Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union president and CEO Andrew Rosen (second from left) recently presented a $20,000 check to the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i in support of its 74th annual book sale, which took place at Ward Village June 17-25. Hawai‘i State FCU has been the title sponsor of the annual Friends of the Library Hawai‘i book sale since 2013, contributing nearly $280,000 to the organization, with an additional $115,000 that was raised in sales at the annual booksale through Hawai‘i State FCU’s members’ preview nights. Students Receive Accolades At STEM Fair
Twenty-seven Hawai‘i high school students from across the state recently competed at the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) — the world’s largest scientific high school competition — between May 13 and 19 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Hawai‘i brought home five Special Awards (from local and national sponsors) and seven Grand Awards in their respective categories, along with scholarships and cash prizes. Center Receives Generous Donation
Bank of Hawai‘i Foundation recently presented $100,000 to Straub Medical Center’s Burn Unit. The only specialized unit of its kind in Hawai‘i and the Pacific Region that has provided lifesaving and life-changing burn care for about 2,000 patients since it opened in 1983.
