Blessing For New Animal Facility
Dignitaries, community leaders and Hawaiian Humane Society supporters gathered recently for a socially distanced blessing of the new Pet Kōkua Waipahu Outreach Center. Located at Filipino Community Center, the facility aims to increase services for the residents of Central and West O‘ahu. The center features a pet food bank, pet food donation intake and information about Hawaiian Humane Society services. Both the Hawai‘i state House and Senate honored the new location with official proclamations.

In total, nearly 1,000 ice cream treats were donated. “This is just one small way that our team at American Savings Bank wanted to show them our appreciation … ,” states Beth Whitehead, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of American Savings Bank.
