Voice Of Democracy Scholarship
Alexandrea Wong (center with certificate), a senior at St. Andrew’s Schools The Priory, was awarded $2,000 in scholarships and a new computer for her four-minute audio essay, “What Makes America Great,” at a Voice of Democracy ceremony hosted by the national Veterans of Foreign Wars in Washington, D.C. She also received $500 from VFW Department of Hawai‘i. Still & Moving For Ho‘ōla Nā Pua
Still & Moving Center donated $2,019 to Ho‘ōla Nā Pua, an organization committed to the prevention of sex trafficking, and providing care for children who have been exploited. For two months over the summer, Still & Moving donated $1 for every class taken by students. Some students contributed matching amounts, as well.
