Ukulele Jam Aids In Education
Ukulele Festival Hawaii presented three $1,000 scholarships Aug. 4 to individuals who enjoy playing the ukulele and are continuing their education. The Eleanor Nedjar College Scholarship, presented to a Ukulele Festival volunteer who exemplifies the true spirit of aloha by placing service above self, was awarded to Wendy Yoshioka, who is working on her master's degree at University of Hawaii at Manoa's Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work.
