Menehune Mac’s 80th Birthday Bash
Menehune Mac celebrated its 80th birthday at its factory in Waiakamilo Sept. 21 with chocolate dunking, cake samples, door prizes and more. More than 200 guests attended the event, including Vincent and Karen Watabu, pictured here with Menehune Mac president Neal Arakaki (far right).

A yearlong fundraising effort by Hawaiian Electric employees and retirees raised $417,633 for Aloha United Way. Pictured are (from left) Alan Oshima, Hawaiian Electric president and CEO; Cindy Adams, AUW president and CEO; Russell Takemoto, IBEW 1260 business manager; and Bob Isler, Hawaiian Electric vice president of power supply. Spearheaded by the company’s power supply division, the employee giving campaign was themed “Powered by Aloha” and raised funds through employee and retiree contributions, cookbook and logo merchandise sales, an online auction, a golf tournament and more.
