League Combats Food Insecurity

Ruthann Yamanaka (left) received the Laura N. Dowsett Award from the Junior League of Honolulu. The accolade honors an individual who demonstrates the effectiveness of advocacy and other leadership qualities. Awardees are asked to select a community organization to receive a gift in their honor, and Yamanaka chose The Pantry by Feeding Hawai‘i Together. Equipping Keiki For The Start Of School

Before the start of the school year, ALTRES held a school supplies drive for 140 students at Mālama Honua Public Charter School. The donated supplies included backpacks, pencils, markers, notebooks, folders, binders, scissors, colored pencils and more. Founded in 1969, ALTRES is an employment and human resources administration company.
