H&M Opens March 27
Yes, it’s finally happening! Global fashion retailer H&M opens its first store in Hawaii March 27 at noon.
The flagship store, located in Waikiki Business Plaza, will feature 31,000 square feet of fashion for women and men, as well as separate “store within store” sections for accessories, lingerie and sports apparel.
The new shop also will feature the work of renowned local surf photographers Mike Coots, Sarah Lee and Zak Noyle in a one-ofa-kind installation to commemorate Hawaii’s local culture and influencers.
The first 500 shoppers in line on opening day will receive a limited-edition tote bag featuring the surf photographers’ most popular images, as well as an Access to Fashion Pass valued from $10 to $500, in addition to other special offers.
H&M was founded in 1947 in Sweden, and has since become one of the world’s largest retailers known for its fashion-forward apparel and quality basics. It also is one of the largest users of organic cotton in the world.
In celebrating the opening of the new Honolulu store, H&M will award a grant to AccesSurf, a charitable partner that empowers people with disabilities.
H&M at Waikiki Business Plaza is located at 2270 Kalakaua Ave. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. For more information, visit hm.com or call 855-466-7467.
MACY’S HEART YOUR PARK
In collaboration with the National Recreation and Park Association, Macy’s hopes to raise awareness and funds for local parks nationwide with its Heart Your Park program. Through the end of March, customers can visit their local Macy’s store and donate $1 or more at the register, and 100 percent of donations will benefit that store’s selected local park. To further spread the love, Macy’s will match customer donations across all stores, dollar-for-dollar, up to $250,000 in total.
Macy’s stores across the country each have selected a local park or green space in their community to support, with more than 550 local parks benefitting from the program. On Oahu, Macy’s Ala Moana has selected Ala Moana Beach Park, Macy’s Pearlridge chose Aiea Bay State Recreation Area, Macy’s Kahala picked Kaimuki Community Park, Macy’s Waikiki selected Kapiolani Park, Macy’s Kailua chose Kailua Beach Park and Macy’s Windward Mall picked Heeia State Park.
