Heroes Run 5K For Kroc Center

Heroes of all ages are invited to Kroc Center Hawaii’s inaugural 5K Hero Run at 8 a.m. Saturday at its community center at 91-3257 Kualakai Pkwy.

The chip-timed race starts and ends at Kroc Center, running around the flat Keahumoa Parkway, Maunakapu Street and Maweke Street. It’s open to both runners and walkers, with prizes for the top three finishers in each age group. A special 1K race will be open to keiki under age 14. Racers are encouraged to dress as their favorite superheroes.

Following the race, participants can enjoy food and live entertainment. A keiki fun zone with games and a bounce house will be open from 7 to 11 a.m.

All proceeds go to Kroc Center Hawaii to support its programs and scholarships.

Registration is $40 for adults and $35 for keiki in the 5K, and $30 for children in the 1K race (a $5 discount applies for Kroc Center members).

Packets can be picked up at the center from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 1-6 p.m. Friday, or 6-7:30 a.m. race day.
