HCAP Help For Paying Electric Bill

Help is on the way for low-income households that are struggling to pay their gas or electricity bills.

The Windward office of HCAP (Honolulu Community Action Program) will sign up applicants from June 3 to 28 for its Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The office is located at 47-232 Waihee Road, near Kahaluu Elementary School.

To qualify, individuals should bring their bill, proof of income and place of residence, photo ID, Social Security numbers and proof of age for all household residents, proof of assets and disability.

Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon every weekday, and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays.
