Hawaii Kai Clinic Launches Affordable Group Acupuncture
A new kind of group “needlework” has arrived in Hawaii Kai — in the form of community acupuncture.
Naturopathic doctor Elizabeth Elliott recently expanded her Hawaii Integrative Health clinic in Hawaii Kai Towne Center to include gathering patients into groups of four in one room for simultaneous “zen-like” needle treatments.

“It allows patients to experience the benefits of acupuncture in a comfortable, peaceful, affordable small-group setting,” explained Elliott, who also is a licensed acupuncturist like colleague Matthew Stuckey, who runs the group.
The advantage of the less-expensive sessions, she pointed out, is that patients can afford to be treated more often with lasting change coming in a shorter period of time. The group approach also is more efficient for her business, thus the reduced cost.
“You could easily say that community acupuncture is a hip new thing for many different crowds,” she added. “We treat a huge variety of conditions, including physical pain, insomnia, depression, hormone balancing, anxiety/stress, allergies, digestive issues, etc.” She also noted that acupuncture is “particularly suited” to treating musculoskeletal injuries from paddling, surfing and running.
Community acupuncture hours are 3-7 p.m. Saturdays, 2-7 p.m. Sundays, and 4-7 p.m. Tuesdays. Fee is a sliding scale of $20 to $40, based on what patients can afford. The clinic is located on the town center’s second floor, above Kaiser Clinic.
