Have A Fling With Your iPad
Gaming on the iPad is ever-growing, and these days there are probably more game apps than utility apps. You would think that would mean more iPad game accessories, but that is not the case. There are a few options out there, but the latest I’ve seen is Ten One Design’s Fling joystick, which received a 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show Design & Engineering Showcase Honors award.
The Fling looks fragile, but it’s nearly indestructible as it’s made from perfectly clear, flexible engineering-grade resin, while the joystick itself is constructed from anodized aluminum. The aluminum part touches your iPad’s capacitive touchscreen as your finger would.
Before you attach the Fling, make sure your iPad’s display and the Fling’s suction cups are clean. As you move the joystick in the center of the screen, it touches the virtual onscreen controller to move your character around. This joystick will only work with games that feature a virtual onscreen controller. Some examples of these are: Galaxy on Fire 2, Snake Xing, Meteor Blitz, Super Mega Worm, Across Age, RoboKill, etc.
You can purchase a Fling at tenonedesign.com for $19.95 each or a two-pack for $29.95. They come in three different colors: Ice, Ninja (black) or Ultraviolet (purple). There is also a Fling mini Dual Pack available for your smartphone ($24.95).
Click Chick’s Mobile App of the Week: Out of Milk
If you’re trying to save money, I’m sure you’ve heard the theory of making a shopping list and sticking to it. Well, exclusively for Android phones, the Out of Milk app is a tool designed to help you keep track of your shopping needs, the pantry inventory and manage your to-do list.
While Out of Milk lets you do the various lists, it seems its strongest point and most popular aspect is the Shopping List. You can organize your lists by meal, recipe or store by simply making a new list, naming it and start adding items. Adding on items to your lists is simple and intuitive with the easy-to-view interface.
There are two versions of Out of Milk, free and pro ($4.99). Both have the ability to do multiple lists.
Find it on Android Market.
