Gallery ‘Iolani Artists Taking A Look ‘Inside’

The next exhibition at Gallery ‘Iolani will showcase the concept of separate interior spaces designed by eight individual artists.

Titled “Interior,” the show opens Friday with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hale Palanakila complex at Windward Community College. Earle Seki will play jazz music, and visitors can meet and talk with featured artists Kamaile Puaoi, Mark Chai, Maura Fujihira, Deanna Itano, Keiko Hatano, Chusak Majarone, Mary Mitsuda and Sally Lundburg.

“Interior” will include handmade furniture and lighting as personal works of art, as well as commercial items incorporated “to create an unexpected transformation within artist-designed comfort spaces.”

The show runs through May 3 and is open from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 1 to 5 p.m Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. For more information, call Toni Martin at 236-9150.
