Kahaluu resident Jane Beachy, manager of the Oahu Army Natural Resources Program's ecosystem restoration, monitors the endangered Sanicula mariversa plant species along the Ohikilolo Ridge above Makua Valley Military Reservation. Beachy recently was named 2014 Oahu Most Valuable Player by the OANRP for her dedication to the war against invasive plants.
