Mother-daughter team Yumi Laney and Christina Laney Wycheck held their seventh annual door-to-door food drive last month. With help from numerous volunteers, the two were able to collect 2,407 pounds of food from more than 220 individual homes and organizations in the Pearl City area. All proceeds went to Hawaii Foodbank. Supporters of this year's efforts were City Councilman Breene Harimoto, Hawaii Self Storage, Outback Steakhouse in Waipio, Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii's Young Professionals Program, Pearl City High School, and Sounds of Success Preschool and Learning Center in Aiea.
