Firm Has Legacy Of Community Service
CHRISTINE KUBOTA
president of Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert
When Frank Damon and Henry Shigekane opened our law firm 60 years ago, it was clear that their commitment to Hawai‘i and its people extended beyond the walls of their budding Honolulu office. Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert’s founders were actively involved with an array of nonprofits, and that same commitment to the community continues today through our firm’s 28 attorneys and their staff members.
To celebrate our 60th anniversary, our employees recently gathered at Honolulu Zoo to lend a hand with multiple projects. It’s just one of the numerous volunteer activities that we will take on this year to give back to the community. These activities represent a small fraction of the volunteerism undertaken by Damon Key year-round.
In recent years, our attorneys and staff have participated in more than 50 local community organizations in wide-ranging capacities, including as members and leaders on various boards. Damon Key attorneys have donated hundreds of pro bono hours to the Honolulu District Court self-help center and the Access to Justice rooms.
It has always been our goal to serve our clients and community with integrity and commitment, and this clear focus has allowed our firm to last all these years during times of great opportunity and daunting challenges. Today, Damon Key attorneys provide civil legal services to local, national and international clients in transactional and litigation practice areas.
As we transition to our third and fourth generations of law firm leaders, we remain resolute in our promise to provide outstanding legal advice and representation, while remaining committed to the firm’s proud tradition of service to the community.
Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert is located in the center of the Honolulu business district, taking the 16th floor of Pauahi Tower at Bishop Square. We are the exclusive Hawai‘i firm of Meritas, a worldwide network of more than 187 top-rated, independent law firms across 94 countries.
