Eat Pizza And Help A Charity
Chuck E. Cheese has just taken on a charity awareness cause, adding to it plenty of pizza and fun from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at its Pearl City restaurant.
The event is one of many across the country sponsored by the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation. In the local spotlight will be Amanda Klebe and her son Brian, who turns 3 in June and has hydrocephalus – a condition where excess fluid gathers in the brain, widening spaces and placing potentially harmful pressure on tissues. Little treatment is known at this time, and it can lead to disabilities and even death.
“I am so thankful to the Chuck E. Cheese organization for working with the PHF,” said Klebe, who also is the new director of the foundation’s Hawaii chapter.
“And also,” she added, “for providing me with this opportunity to connect with so many families in our mission to educate people and raise awareness about the hydrocephalus.”
During the fundraiser, whenever a customer mentions “PHF,” the restaurant will donate 15 percent of its sales to the foundation.
Literature and information about the condition also will be available.
