Discard Old Drugs At Mall, Base
With the sponsorship of several government agencies, local military and civilian shopping hubs will accept unused and expired medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
In Windward Oahu, residents can drop off their surplus drugs at Windward Mall’s center court and at the Marine Corps Exchange entrance at the Kaneohe base (access required).
The national Take Back Initiative is an effort to encourage the proper, safe and anonymous disposal of tablets, capsules and all other solid dosage forms of medicine. These should not be thrown in the trash or flushed down the toilet, where they can enter the island water supply.
