Daily Remedies In Neem Trees

Halawa Xeriscape Garden plans a neem tree workshop, which is offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 18 by the Board of Water Supply and Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden at the garden.

The workshop will cover how parts of the neem tree can be used for things such as organic pest control, as well as a household remedy for everyday use.

Neem trees are well-known for being “unthirsty” plants that contain a number of insecticidal, medicinal and water-saving benefits, which make them a perfect fit for any yard.

Saleem Ahmed, Ph.D, former East-West Center fellow (and neem tree enthusiast), will be on hand to demonstrate the different uses of the neem tree, which include assisting in diabetes control, treating acne, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial remedies and more.
