Cooking, Baking Classes At KEY
Kipuka Cafe will conduct two six-week courses in kitchen and baking Skills beginning Feb. 9 at KEY Project.
The separate classes, listed below, are available to people age 18 and older and will emphasize food safety and sanitation, taught by experienced, professional chefs:
• “An Introduction to Fundamental Kitchen Skills” with Chef Ken Weir from 8 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays;
• “An Introduction to Fundamental Baking Skills” with Chef Richard Wagner from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Students may sign up for both, but enrollment is limited to six students in each one, and a TB clearance is required prior to the start of class. Fee is $25 for one class, $35 for both. Certificates of completion will be awarded to qualified students.
To demonstrate their new skills, students will help plan, prepare and implement a KEY Project-sponsored food event.
