Conference’s Leading Scorer Cites Teammates For His Success
Waialua guard Xavier Repollo may set the pace for the Bulldog boys basketball team, but he does so while maintaining a team-first mind-set.
“My teammates help me get open, and they help me to score,” said Repollo, who is currently the OIA White’s leading scorer at 16 points per game. “My coaches push me in practice and help me improve, and they help me correct my mistakes for the next game.”
Only a junior, Repollo also has been a consistent performer to date, scoring right around his average, except for a 6-point night against Division I Pearl City. He also had a memorable outing versus Waipahu, scoring a season-high 25 in a 64-60 win Jan. 16.
Repollo and the team currently are in the midst of a key stretch on their schedule as the OIA playoffs approach. Repollo recently took some time away from the basketball court to visit with MidWeek‘s Central Oahu Islander.
