Concert To Mark ‘Aina Partnership At Lanikai
Lanikai Elementary Public Charter School will present “Concert in the Garden” from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, featuring the best of Hawaii’s young music talents, “farm-to-table” food, Eco outreach booths, up-cycling, sustainable items for sale and plenty of garden crafts for the keiki.
Not green enough? Take a look at the new garden bed, installed on campus earlier this month in cooperation with Kokua Hawaii Foundation and its ‘AINA in the Schools program. The concert celebrates this partnership and also is intended to raise funds to nurture and cultivate the school’s badly tattered budget.
Tickets are $20 and $10 (keiki over 4) and are available at the school office from 2:20 to 3:30 p.m. until Friday or online at concertinthegarden.org.
The entertainment lineup features kumu Peter and Lanikai students, 11-year-old ukulele star Aiden James, singer-songwriter Erin Smith, Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble and the artistry of ukulele master Taimane. On the menu is tasty food from The Grove restaurant in Kailua, Salad Envy and Ono Pops.
Lanikai School is located at 140 Alala Road. For more concert information, call 352-6990.
