Church Offers ‘Sacred Art Of Dying’ Thursday
Compassion & Choices Hawaii will present the next topic in Emmanuel Episcopal Church’s community speaker series at 7 p.m. Thursday at 780 Keolu Drive.
The free program, “The Sacred Art of Dying: An Advance Directive Party,” will cover end-of-life options, priorities, and how to honor individual wishes, as presented by Skye Morrison, the nonprofit’s end-of-life care coordinator. Morrison will share advice on what she calls “a growing national movement to secure more individual choice and autonomy over the treatment people receive during their final days.”
Good to Go “toolkits” also will be distributed, and Bookends Kailua will have new and used books on the topic to sell or give out.
“Getting educated about options is the first step,” Morrison noted, “and we invite anyone interested in learning more to join us.”
