Church Marks Pastor’s Ordination At Easter

After 20 years serving Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Waimanalo, Pastor Bill Youngs recently became ordained to minister outside of Hawaii.

“Now he is recognized to preach, perform weddings and conduct other ceremonies all over the world, under the auspices of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel,” said district leader Alex Pacheco.

Youngs, his wife JoJo and the congregation will celebrate both milestones with a community Easter service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Waimanalo District Park, complete with music, dance, talk story potluck lunch and an Easter egg hunt. The community is invited.

The couple, who graduated from Kailua High School, have four children and five grandchildren; JoJo also founded Senior Options, an elder care provider.

“We feel blessed to be part of the Windward community,” said Pastor Youngs, who also is an avid musician, songwriter, surfer and motorcyclist. “Our major focus is growing strong families both spiritually and as contributors to the community.”
