Mililani resident Shannon Scott, a well known former local radio and TV host, has moved on to McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii as a marketing consultant. “We are thrilled to have Shannon join our ohana,” says president and managing director Veronica Kaneko, noting the enthusiasm and experience he brings to the job. Shannon and wife Mandi have two daughters and a performing arts studio, and you’ll find them on the field coaching many of the girls’ sports teams in the community … On the dean’s list at George Fox University in Oregon are Mililani students David Hiraga (biology major), Taylor Suwa (social work) and Tayla Yogi (cinema and media) … The online foodie guide, Cooking Light, has named Haleiwa Farmers’ Market one of America’s 50 Best for 2015 (out of 8,000), drawing praise from local chef Ed Kenney, who notes: “Most of the farmers on Oahu are out on that side of the island, so it gets a good farmer turnout. It’s a really tight-knit beach community, so it’s a place where you can always find friends, family and good food” … Wahiawa Red Cross volunteer Emily Kukulies recently deployed to Rota Island near Guam as a caseworker helping families impacted by Typhoon Dolphin, which struck the area in mid-May and damaged 128 homes …
