Calling All Runners, Walkers

Pono Kapolei Fun Run, sponsored by E Ola Pono Ma Kapolei and Kapolei High School, wants runners (or walkers) for its inaugural race.

The 5K run starts at 8 a.m. March 14 at UH-West Oahu campus and moves along Farrington Highway, Kualakai Park and Kapolei Parkway, finishing at Kapolei High School’s stadium.

State Rep. Sharon Har, D-District 42 (Kapolei-Makakilo), will sponsor a Keiki Wellness Fair at the end of the race.

Keiki and their families also can participate in activities by Xtreme Fun Rides and Kapolei Middle School.

Runners should sign up online by March 10 at flpregister.com/131. Entry fee is $20 for students and military, $25 for adults and free for keiki under 3.

Packet pickup will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. March 12 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Makeke Kapolei (farmers market).
