Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii – 8/14/13
Gerald Shintaku of Kraft Foods Group in Hawaii has been appointed second vice chairman of Hawaii Foodbank’s board. He previously served as secretary from 2011 to 2013. Shintaku also chairs the board’s Product Resourcing Committee, which is responsible for identifying potential food donors for Hawaii Foodbank and cultivating relationships within the food industry. He has served on the Hawaii Foodbank board for 13 years.
James Starshak, a partner at Carlsmith Ball LLP, has been appointed secretary of Hawaii Foodbank’s board. He also chairs the board’s Personnel Committee, which is responsible for decisions on Hawaii Foodbank staff appointments. Starshak has served on the Hawaii Foodbank board for seven years.
Dayna Matsumoto has been promoted to vice president and controller with Central Pacific Bank. She now oversees all aspects of accounting, financial management and reporting processes. Her responsibilities also include overseeing the tax compliance function and developing financial forecasts and corporate strategies. Matsumoto joined Central Pacific Bank in 2006 and previously served as VP and asset/liability manager.
Ryan Talabis has been promoted to lead researcher and vice president of information technology with Secure DNA. Talabis joined Secure DNA in 2006, and has been crucial in expanding the company’s presence throughout Asia-Pacific and the U.S. mainland. He has more than 13 years of experience in network security and data analysis, working with some of the world’s largest companies on their information technology security programs.
