Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii

Aaron J. Kotarek has joined Honolulu Star-Advertiser as vice president of circulation. He is responsible for creating innovative programs, improving delivery metrics and enhancing customer service with a goal of overall readership growth, revenue enhancement, digital platform engagement and maximizing distribution/ transportation logistics for Oahu Publications Inc.’s entire Hawaiibased print and digital product portfolio. Kotarek also will oversee circulation for OPI’s weekly publications, including MidWeek, monthly magazines, niche websites, mobile apps and social media channels. He previously was vice president of audience development at the McClatchy Company’s Lexington Herald-Leader.

Michael Taylor has been appointed senior vice president and real estate manager for Bank of Hawaii. His responsibilities include managing the bank’s owned and leased real estate portfolio throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Islands.

Aimee Ramil Pang, LEED AP, has been promoted to associate with Group 70 International Inc. She joins the firm’s growing body of leaders responsible for carrying G70 into the future

Lawrence Hanson has been named general manager of Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. In his new role at the 793- room resort, Hanson will oversee general operations of the property, including rooms division, food and beverage operations, sales and marketing team, and Moana Lani Spa, a Heavenly Spa by Westin. He also will manage many new property improvements and guest-servicing projects at Moana Surfrider.

Dawn (Chapman) Luat has been hired as a loan officer with Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii. Veterans United serves veterans and service members.
