Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii
Virginia Walker has been hired as Kuakini Medical Center’s managing director for inpatient nursing services. Walker, a registered nurse and oncology nurse, previously worked for Kuakini Medical Center as the patient care coordinator for emergency services. In her new role, Walker will oversee all of the inpatient nursing units at Kuakini.
Jim Alberts joins Hawaiian Electric Company as senior vice president of customer service. Alberts acquired more than 20 years of utility experience at Kansas City Power & Light. Over his career, Alberts has led teams and designed and implemented programs that focused on establishing quality customer service and efficiency. He most recently served as vice president of customer services for KCP&L.
Karen Huffman, president of QSR Hawaii, has been elected by Hawaii Theatre Center board of directors to serve as chairman for the orga-nization’s 2012-2013 fiscal year. The Hawaii Theatre Center was established in 1984 as a private nonprofit organization to restore and operate the historic Hawaii Theatre.
Loren Graham has been promoted to the position of broker-in-charge and partner at Graham Properties Incorporated (GPI). Graham will manage new agents and oversee all company marketing efforts, including promotions, advertising and social media. Graham has closed more than $6 million each year in sales at GPI over the past six years.
Kamala Nayeli has been appointed director of SpaHalekulani for the legendary beachfront Halekulani hotel. Nayeli will oversee SpaHalekulani’s operations, maintaining its highly regarded innovation in sustainable, environmental-ly friendly wellness prac-tices.
Bryan Kubo has taken over as head of operations at Pacific Courier Inc. He previously served as workforce excellence manager for PCI’s parent company, HawkTree International.
